Biography

Stephanie Christensen is a part-time lecturer at EMU in the School of Music and Dance. She has been a music educator in southeast Michigan for over 20 years. In that time, she has taught students ranging in age from children to adults in a variety of contexts, including, most significantly, elementary and middle school band students and undergraduate education majors. She began working at EMU in 2017.

Stephanie earned her degrees in music education (BM and MM) from the University of Michigan, where she studied trombone with David Jackson and H. Dennis Smith. She credits Colleen Conway for decades of guidance and mentoring, and Scott Boerma for inspiring her career in music education.

In addition to her teaching at EMU, Stephanie is a lecturer at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she supervises music education student teachers.
