Eastern Michigan University is one of the many universities nationally that is part of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. The NLA prepares EMU students and to be leaders in the nonprofit sector through completion of the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential. It is the only national nonprofit credential preparing undergraduate and graduate students as well as working professionals for careers in nonprofit management.

The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance is designed for students or working professionals who desire in-depth learning about nonprofit organizations. This program is appropriate for students in any major, professionals already working for a nonprofit, or an individual who would like to switch sectors. It is for those who want to develop new skills and boost their chances on the job market, and those who are enthusiastic about working at building a successful career in the nonprofit sector.
