Ten students from EMU’s Nonprofit Leadership Alliance attended the Alliance Management Institute in Orlando, FL over Winter Break. They joined 478 students from across the country participating in quickfire sessions, workshops, and simulations aimed at strengthening the social sector. Additionally, they provided consulting services for numerous Orlando nonprofits and contributed to a white paper focused on addressing poverty in Florida. EMU students also competed in the “What’s the Big Idea” competition where they presented their vision for combating racial bias in K-6 education. The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance at EMU is part of a national network and awards the Certified Nonprofit Professional credential, the only national credential preparing individuals for leadership in the nonprofit sector.
