Understanding International Student Healthcare

While you're a student at EMU, you should consider the IHA Health Center to be your first source for health information. The IHA Health Center is located at 1065 N Huron River Drive, Ypsilanti, MI 48197. The IHA Health Center provides both primary and urgent care. This facility serves EMU’s students, faculty, and staff along with the surrounding community.

If you are experiencing a severe, life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 or visit a local emergency room right away.

Primary Care is your first stop for preventative or routine care. Primary Care can be used to manage existing or chronic health conditions, get referrals, screen for common health issues, and get immunizations. Sometimes your appointment may not be right away and is scheduled in advance. For more information, Visit the IHA Primary Care website.
  • Urgent Care Services

    Expand dropdown
Urgent Care services are for patients whose illnesses or injuries don’t present as life-threatening, but cannot wait the time needed to see a primary care physician. Students can visit urgent care for sprains, fevers, severe vomiting and other vital issues. An appointment is not needed. Urgent care services are open 7 days a week. For more information, Visit the IHA Urgent Care website.
