New Students
Welcome to EMU!
New students refers to students starting at EMU on an F-1 Student Visa: The visa for people who want to study at an accredited U.S. college or university or to study English at a university or language institute.
Visit new students for information about traveling to the US, orientation and SEVIS Check-in, maintaining visa status, driver's licenses, and international admissions deadlines.
Current Students

Scholars
Our Scholars page has information about the J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa: The visa issued to people who will be participating in an educational or cultural exchange program. Learn more about our scholars program.
Change of Address
Students are required to keep their addresses updated in my.emich (see this video for instructions). When you update your address in my.emich it informs the campus departments as well as OISS of your address change. It is also very helpful to keep your phone number updated in my.emich so the OISS can reach you if there is an emergency.
