The Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction – Leadership online program at Eastern Michigan University is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to serve as educational and community leaders. In this online education program, you will gain the administrative skills to supervise effective, positive instructional programs and understand principles and procedures for addressing issues related to professional growth and continuous improvement.
Curriculum includes an exploration of knowledge and skills to nurture and sustain school improvement processes. You will learn to build capacity and support among staff for initiatives, revise and refine school practices, monitor progress toward established goals, and make decisions regarding effectiveness. This work is framed by today’s school climate as it is influenced by political, cultural, social, racial, ethnic and economic factors.
EMU students are nurtured and supported by our faculty. Plus, EMU graduates have a large network of educators and administrators across the U.S. with whom to network. The online M.A. in leadership program is aligned with the rigor of similar National Board programs.

The Masters in Curriculum and Instruction: Leadership degree can be completed entirely online. The coursework is delivered synchronously or asynchronously, depending on the program. As part of their academic obligations, students may be required to participate in in-person clinical or internships near their residences or attend an on-campus program on one or two weekends during a semester. NOTE: It is not permissible for international students studying in the United States to pursue a fully online program.
