As a supplement to our in-person Orientation programs (SOAR and EMU Connect), students will complete a series of online modules to learn information about Housing, EMU Dining, Academics, and Financial Aid, among other resources. Students are able to complete these modules at their own pace, and can reassess the information at any time.
Modules should be completed at three different times: pre-SOAR, post-SOAR, and pre-EMU Connect. Completing them this way will allow information to be available just in time, instead of all at once.
NOTE: Students will need their NetID and password to log in to the Online Orientation. Please be sure to have registered for an advising appointment by completing the EMU Enrollment form BEFORE logging in to your online orientation. Once you have registered it is mandatory to complete the Online Orientation prior to attending your SOAR day.
Student Orientation Advising & Registration (SOAR) is our series of one-day programs for incoming students to meet their advisor and register for their first semester of classes. Attending SOAR is mandatory for all new first year students. SOAR days will run from March 2024 through August 2024.
SOAR Dates:
There are currently no SOAR dates available. Students should contact us at [email protected] for assistance. 2024 SOAR dates will be available in early 2024.
To ensure students get their preferred schedule, they should register for the first available date they are able to attend. Selecting a later SOAR date may mean desired classes are full by registration times.
SOAR days consist of a Resource Fair, group time led by current EMU students, academic advising, and course registration.
Prior to attending SOAR, students should complete:
