Physics and Astronomy Facilities

The Department of Physics and Astronomy has a variety of facilities to meet the educational needs of students, faculty, and staff. These facilities include a student reading room, classrooms and teaching laboratories, research laboratories, machine shop, maker's space, and a historic observatory.

A popular gathering spot is the Trochet Reading Room (226 Strong) where students often study, work with a tutor, or tackle their latest assignments in a group discussion.

Research Facilities

The physics and astronomy faculty at Eastern are actively engaged in a variety of research areas, each of which has a dedicated lab space.

The Department has several other facilities that are used for educational, research, and outreach purposes.
