Master of Arts in Communication

This 30 credit hour graduate program equips you with a strong foundation in communication theory, research, performance and applied communication contexts. Choose from two concentration options: communication studies which focuses on interpersonal, small group, organization, intercultural and speech communication or interpretation/performance studies taking advantage of EMU’s 40 year reputation of producing top 10 forensics teams.

A M.A. in communication prepares you for various careers including advertising, marketing, business management, organizational administration, government, politics, public relations, health services and social services, all of which demand a sophisticated knowledge of human communication.
- Have at least a minor or the equivalent in communication or speech
- Have a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.7 (exceptions on faculty recommendation)
- Meet admission requirements for the Graduate School.
