Participate in Research
The SEED Lab is currently recruiting families with 3- and 4-year-old children to participate in our Preschool Development Study. The study involves two initial visits to our lab on EMU's campus one week apart. Participants receive $20 for the first hour-long session and $40 for the second session which takes approximately 90 minutes. The first part of the session involves play activities for parents and children to do together. Then, parents are asked to fill out some questionnaires while children are asked to complete a few games that measure how well they can control their attention and behavior. Between the first and second visits, participants are asked keep daily sleep diaries and wear a watch to record their sleep. At the second session, child saliva samples are collected to measure stress hormones. There is also an opportunity to return one year later to complete the same activities again.
