EMU Research

Animal Care and Use

The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is responsible for ethical and regulatory oversight of animal research on campus. All animal research must be approved by the IACUC before research activities begin. The left menu provides access to IACUC policy, the application process, and protection of animals in research training.

The EMU IACUC maintains active assurances with the Public Health Service (PHS) Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The PHS assurance serves as EMU IACUC policy.

**Note: EMU no longer subscribes to the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) for human subject, animal care and use, and responsible conduct of research training, as of June 30, 2020. These trainings can now be completed in Canvas. Please complete  this form  to be enrolled in one or more online training course.
