EMU Resources for Conducting Research/Scholarship/Creative Activity During the Covid-19 Pandemic

This page provides information that is specific to conducting research/scholarship/creative activity at EMU during Covid-19. For general information about Covid-19 and EMU, please see the EMU Covid-19 Update page

Current Research Phase: 2

Phase 2: Limited Access with Expanded Safety Requirements

Most research can be resumed, but building or room occupancy is limited. Use of face coverings and enhanced hygiene and cleaning and disinfecting procedures are required.

During Phase 2, research activities will be scheduled through the appropriate administrative office (typically the Dean) in order to remain within space occupancy limits. Once permitted to access a research laboratory or studio, faculty will notify James McEvers, Laboratory Compliance Manager, EHS , so that he knows when laboratory/studio spaces will be back in service.

Researchers must abide by CDC hygiene protocols (including wipe down of surfaces), and operate within the guidelines of the State of Michigan and Washtenaw County.

Conducting Research/Scholarship/Creative Activity on Campus

EMU has developed a preparedness and response plan for research to keep faculty, staff, and students safe while working. Please note that conditions could change quickly due to Governor Whitmer's Executive Orders, recommendations from the CDC, Washtenaw County Health Department, and other expert advice. The plan was built to allow for flexibility due to changing conditions. Specific requirements and the phase of research will be communicated by the Provost's Office.
