The McNair Scholars Program, funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, is designed to assist first-generation students in gaining admission to, and succeeding in doctoral studies.  The Eastern Michigan University McNair Program offers competitive admission to a small group of high-achieving students who are interested in conducting challenging research with a faculty mentor.  McNair students are members of the University's Honors College, and have displayed the academic skills and personal initiative to excel, both at our institution, and as they progress into post-graduate studies.
