Complex Director
EMU Complex Directors (CD) are full-time, live-in professionals with a 12-month contract. They supervise two to three graduate hall directors (GHD), office managers (OM), and indirectly supervise resident advisors. Residence halls are all co-ed and range from 250 to 400 students. Campus apartment complexes range from 100 to 215 residents. Primary CD responsibilities include supervising GHD and OM staff, creating a positive living and learning environment, supporting academic success, adjudicating student conduct, responding to student issues and administrating their complex. A master's degree in higher education or related field is required.
Area Directors
Area Directors (AD) are full-time, live-off professionals with a 12-month contract. The two positions supervise three to four full-time, masters-level complex directors. Additional responsibilities include working with summer camps and conferences, summer school, and departmental projects and committees. A master's degree in higher education and three years supervising staff in Housing and Residence Life is required.
