Jimmy Moore graduated from Washtenaw Community College and Madonna University. He has taught criminal justice courses at Washtenaw Community College since 1993 and Eastern Michigan University since 1998. Jimmy assisted in the development of the criminal investigation course at Eastern Michigan. Prior to teaching, Jimmy was a police officer with the Ypsilanti Police Department. He rose through the ranks and became the first African American chief of police in the history of the city. He retired in 1986 after 25 years of service, and became a licensed private investigator, establishing J. F. Moore and Associates LLC as a full service private investigation agency. From 1996 to 2009 he supervised the activities of the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department Civil Division. Jimmy celebrates over 39 years of marriage, has four children, 14 grandchildren and enjoys motorcycling, fishing and traveling.
