Ben Wilcox became a lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Eastern Michigan University after completing his graduate studies at EMU, which included a graduate assistantship under Dr. Gregg Barak. In this capacity, he has sought to enhance students’ knowledge of the complex issues of social justice that concern our society today.  As a former clinical social worker and delinquency specialist, Ben has applied his practical knowledge of human behavior and social processes to activism on the behalf of current and former prisoners across the country, including the mentorship of serving prisoners and parolees. He is the Web Master of “exconresources.com,” a social justice Web site dedicated to the investigation & provision of informational resources to the formerly incarcerated and their families. Ben has been married to his wife Jan for thirty-two years, and has been studying and teaching traditional Asian martial-arts for more than three decades.
