If you are searching for treatment, EMU offers counseling and psychiatric services on or near campus in many places. Treatment options also exist in the greater Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area for students and community members.


Campus Resources

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is dedicated to addressing the mental health needs of EMU students. Our caring staff provides free individual, group, and couples therapy using a short-term model. Medication management with our staff psychiatrist is also available for a fee. All of these services are confidential.

Registered students receive 12 FREE visits per year at CAPS.

Counseling Clinic

The Counseling Clinic within the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) offers personal and family mental health counseling as well as career assessment and academic counseling that taps into your potential and builds upon your strengths and the strengths of your support systems. Services are provided to individuals, couples, families, and children. Sliding fee scale and no one will be turned away for an inability to pay.

Community Behavioral Health Clinic

The clinic aims to provide convenient and affordable psychological services to area residents. A broad range of behavioral, emotional, cognitive, developmental, lifespan, health related, family-of-origin and interpersonal issues can be addressed. Fees are charged for services (see website for details).
