Method for imparting antimicrobial properties to nylon/cotton blend fabric. Nylon/Cotton blend fabric samples were tested for antimicrobial efficacy using AATCC 147 test method against Staphylococcus aureus (a Gram positive) organism and Escherichia Coli, Gram negative organism and also AATCC 100 method using Staphylococcus (Gram positive) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram negative) organisms after washing the fabric several times with soap and water at 60o C. The treated fabrics exhibited effective biocidal activities against both the Gram positive as well as negative organisms and maintained all textile properties as well.
