Students can make an appointment to speak with a nurse practitioner at Health Center and use their student health insurance to purchase tobacco cessation products (prescription medication or nicotine replacement therapy) at the Health Center Pharmacy.
Beginning Oct. 1, 2015, EMU students can enroll in Michigan Quit Line's free service. Click here to download a pdf flyer that explains services offered by MI Quit Line. Call 800.QUIT.NOW (800.784.8669) or head to the MI Quit Line website to enroll online.
The Student Tobacco Outreach Program (S.T.O.P.) is a free tobacco cessation program for all EMU students. The program consists of five weekly sessions focusing on topics and activities to support students who are interested in reducing or quitting their use of tobacco. Eastern Michigan University has adopted a tobacco-free policy that supports a healthy learning, living and work environment for all members of the campus community.
The policy, effective July 1, 2015, prohibits all smoking and the use of tobacco products in or on all university owned, operated or leased buildings, facilities and grounds, including vehicles.
