High school students, transfer students invited to Explore Eastern Open House on Oct. 5 at Student Center

Deans, faculty and staff will provide details on how EMU education can create an excellent future for you

YPSILANTI – High school and prospective transfer students have a great chance to learn about the how an education at Eastern Michigan University can create a path to your future at the Explore Eastern Open House, to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the EMU Student Center.

All students attending Explore Eastern can apply for admission FREE of charge—a $35 savings.

Explore Eastern offers a variety of features that offer a vivid look at what an Eastern education can mean to you:

  • EMU faculty will be available to talk with you about specific majors and academic programs.
  • Deans from each of the colleges will give a brief presentation about the programs available in their colleges.
  • EMU leaders from Housing, Dining, Career Services, Leadership and Involvement, Financial Aid, Scholarships and others will be available to speak with you.
  • Admissions staff is available to speak with incoming freshman and transfer students, including a special session for transfer students.
  • Tours of campus, led by a current EMU student, will be offered at 9 a.m., 11:25 a.m. and 12:55 p.m. You’ll have the opportunity to ask your tour guide questions and see: 
    • a classroom building
    • the Bruce T. Halle Library
    • the Olds-Robb Recreation and Intramural Building
    • a residence hall room
  • All attendees are welcome to bring family members and friends.

Parking

Parking for Explore Eastern is free. We recommend you park in the Student Center Lot off Oakwood Drive. The Student Center is located at 900 Oakwood St., Ypsilanti, 48197.
