  • Women's Resource Center Scholarship Opportunities

    The Women’s Resource Center is committed to encouraging and supporting academic enrichment through providing financial support to students experiencing financial hardships. This year, we are excited to share 2 scholarship opportunities: The Women's Resource Center Women of Excellence Scholarship AND The Women's Resource Center Student Parent Scholarship.

    In an effort to best support the financial needs of EMU students, the application for BOTH scholarship opportunities are currently open and will remain open until funding is exhausted for the semester. Please note: filling out this form does not guarantee full financial assistance. 

    Women's Resource Center Women of Excellence Scholarship

    Scholarship amounts may range anywhere from $250-$1200, depending on the student's individual need and the amount of funding remaining, as determined by the EMU Office of Financial Aid. This application will be reviewed bi-monthly each semester.

    Requirements:

    • Be at least a Junior or Senior to apply  (56+ credits earned).

    • Graduate students are also welcomed to apply.

    • Have a 2.5 or better GPA

    • Must demonstrate need-based financial aid as determined by the Office of Financial Aid through completion of the FAFSA for the current academic year.

    • Write a 500 word Personal Statement.  The Personal Statement MUST respond to the prompt:  How have you directly contributed to women's affairs on campus?

    • Provide 1 Letter of Recommendation from a personal or professional reference.  This letter MUST speak to how the candidate has directly contributed to women's affairs on campus.

  • Women's Resource Center Student Parent Scholarship

    Scholarship amounts may range anywhere from $250-$1000, depending on the student's individual need and the amount of funding remaining, as determined by the EMU Office of Financial Aid. This application will be reviewed bi-monthly each semester.

    Requirements:

    Be at least a Junior or Senior to apply (56+ credits earned). Graduate students are also welcomed to apply.
    Have a 2.5 or better GPA
    Must have at least one dependent as determined through the completion of the FASFA for the current academic year.
    Must demonstrate need-based financial aid as determined by the Office of Financial Aid through completion of the FAFSA for the current academic year.
    Write a 250 word Personal Statement. The Personal Statement MUST respond to the prompt: How have you directly contributed to "women's affairs" on campus as a student parent?
    Provide 1 Letter of Recommendation from a personal or professional reference. This letter MUST speak to how the candidate has directly contributed to women's affairs on campus as a student parent.
