Experience the Ultimate Upgrade: Renovated Residence Halls at EMU
Discover our new look. Exciting renovations are transforming campus housing, with amenities such as central air conditioning, enhanced Wi-Fi coverage, refreshed bathrooms, new flooring, and energy-efficient lighting added for upgraded comfort and modern living. Downing, Putnam and Walton halls were the first to be renovated and were unveiled in 2023, while Phelps and Sellers are set to open for the Fall 2024 semester. All of the renovated residence halls feature renovated lounges, study spaces, and community kitchens, with comfy new furniture that makes for a perfect home away from home.
Housing Application
Fall 2024 Housing Application opens for all students on Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. Current students must sign up by March 8 at 5 p.m. for priority housing. Please check out the Housing and Residence Life website for more information.
Downing Hall
Downing Hall, home to The Honors College, is the gem of our residence hall options with energy-efficient, fully accessible rooms in a state of the art coed building. The podcast room, recording room, and green screen room are ideal for a number of career paths. The updated central laundry and new prayer room are designed to meet personal needs of the diverse EMU student community.

Phelps Hall
Move-in to the fully renovated Phelps Hall! Newly furnished lounges make the perfect place to spend time with friends. Each floor has a renovated kitchen with new appliances for making late night snacks. Suite style rooms are connected with a upgraded bathroom. A/C, improved Wi-Fi, and safety features like electronic key door locks have been added throughout the building. Live on campus and thrive thanks to all the new renovations!

Sellers Hall
Sellers is another spectacular place to live with improved Wi-Fi, A/C, and newly furnished lounge spaces. The suite style rooms are connected with an updated bathroom.
