About Women's History Month

Celebrating Women of Character, Courage and Commitment

This year marks a moment when students, faculty staff, and the broader Eastern Michigan University community will commemorate the significant achievements of activists, artists, policy makers, and scholars involved in critical social movements to achieve civil, political, and reproductive rights based on gender, race and ethnicity, sexuality, and disability at the local, national, and global level. We seek to honor these histories as a guide in our present moment, while we work to protect crucial gains that were won, yet are being chipped away before our eyes. We invite you to join in reflecting on the challenges posed to women in our quest for justice and equality in the twenty-first century—in Michigan, the United States, and across the globe.
