Colleen Coyle-Levy

Colleen Coyle-Levy received a BA in Elementary Education with additional certification in secondary mathematics and science. She is currently dual-enrolled in the Social Foundations of Education Master of Arts program and Women's and Gender Studies Master of Arts program. She is currently working on a research project with students from the University of Tampere in Finland, studying the role that sexuality plays in Finnish society and how perceptions have changed over the last three decades.



Mark Doebler III

Mark Doebler III received a BA in Social Relations and Policy at Michigan State University, where they Chaired The Alliance of Queer and Ally Students, conducted research through the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Scholars Program, and worked with organizations such as the MSU Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities, Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Peer Prevention Program, MSU Hillel's Destination Detroit, and Ask Big Questions. Doebler is interested in critical queer and transgender theory analysis of cultural studies, with recent research focusing on analysis of video games. Their thesis is examining digital images of transgender subjects within video games.


 Saadet Durmaz

Saadet Durmaz is a graduate student at EMU pursuing an M.A. degree in Women and Gender Studies. She graduated from Ankara University in 2009 with a B.A. in Folklore. Her research interests include: Women's political participation in Muslim cultures, gender representation in popular culture, and LGBTQ studies. Saadet also works for an online fortune telling website. She uses fortune telling as a tool to learn more about women's fatalism in Turkey. She is the author of numerous popular culture articles in a Turkish website.


Leena Johnson

Leena Johnson is an excited first-year WGST MA student. She is currently leaning towards activism as her concentration because she lives to uplift the oppressed. Her bachelor's is in Public Relations with minor in Communication. Leena works for EMU's Housing and Residence Life for Residential Operation as Graduate Assistant of Front Desk Operations and Services as well as the Social Media Administrator for EMU's College of Education. When she's not pouring my heart and soul into EMU, she likes to spend her time reading, listening to music or finding a mini adventure close by.


Glenn Miller

Glenn Miller attended Grand Valley State University and earned a BA in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis in Contemporary Existential Queer Theory and a certificate in Intercultural Training. Topics of previous work include: Representation in popular media such as gender in Pokemon, Justice Kennedy's path to marriage equality, and exposing Honors culture of discrimination in academic institutions. Glenn held the office of Head of Student Affairs, then President, of Grand Valley's American Civil Liberties Union chapter. Glenn is passionate about queer and critical race topics with authors such as Jack Halberstam and Kate Bornstien being favorites.


Katrina Solomon

Katrina Solomon received a BS and MS in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising at Eastern Michigan University. Solomon is interested in researching topics related to the process of healing from domestic abuse, the experience of nonbinary persons in a gendered society, and queer inclusion in polyamory. Solomon is currently working full time as a linehaul coordinator.


Daivon Taylor

Daivon Taylor is a Michigan native and received a BA in Women's and Gender Studies from EMU while minoring in Social Work. As an undergraduate, Daivon was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, collecting many awards, traveling, holding leadership positions, and volunteering hundreds of community service hours. Daivon’s area of interest is working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Another field of interest is educating others on LGBTQ+ inclusion. Daivon is currently working on facilitating an LGBTQ+ inclusion program for fraternities on campus. Daivon lives with a nine-year-old Siberian Huskey named Princess.
