Margrit Zinggeler, a native of German speaking Switzerland, was Professor of German at Eastern Michigan University from 1999-2018. Her research concentrates on the brothers Grimm Fairy Tales, German for professional purposes, and Swiss Studies.
Prof. Zinggeler tought all level of German Language, Grammar, and Conversation courses; Business German; German Cultures and Civilization; Theory and Method of German Translation; German Phonetics.

CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS
Besides teaching and scholarly activities, Prof. Zinggeler served as member and chair on numerous university and departmental committees, advisory councils, in the EMU Faculty Senate from 2002-2015, and on the Executive Board of the Faculty Council (2003-2010). She directed the study abroad summer program in Graz, Austria and in Düsseldorf, Germany. She was elected President of the Michigan World Language Association (2005-2006). She served as reviewer of Michigan Test Teacher Certification, Michigan Department of Education (2006-2017), and as national evaluator of Research Applications for Austria and Switzerland, Fulbright Organization.
