Biography

Nozomi H. Craft is a Japanese Language Lecturer at Eastern Michigan University.  She received a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics, with a concentration in Foreign Language Pedagogy, from the University of Massachusetts Boston; a Graduate Certificate in Japanese Language Teaching from Eastern Michigan University; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics from Michigan State University.

Originally from Kanagawa prefecture, Japan, Nozomi has lived, worked and traveled all over the world.  Besides Japan and the United States, Nozomi has lived in São Paulo, Brazil, Shanghai, China, and Essex, England.  She has a long experience in teaching various subjects to students in a variety of age groups, from elementary school students to adults, in different countries and in different settings.  Nozomi has taught at Schoolcraft College, the Japanese School of Detroit, Alpha Idiomas (Brazil), and other institutes.  Nozomi’s research interests include second language acquisition, foreign language pedagogy, critical pedagogy, and cross cultural perspectives.
