Biography
Dr. Sayuri Kubota received her Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2000. She has taught Japanese at various institutions including Purdue University, the University of Iowa, and the University of Illinois. Her research interests include Japanese Pedagogy and Second Language Acquisition. She received ACTFL OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview) tester certification in 2011. She served as the president as well as the interim president of Japanese Teachers Association of Michigan (JTAM) from Summer 2014 - Spring 2018.
