Languages and International Careers

The Languages and International Careers programs provide the knowledge and skills for international careers and a practical proficiency command of foreign languages, including translating. Employers and graduates state such knowledge and skills lead not only to better chances for employment but also for increased pay, promotions and, most importantly, exciting careers stateside and abroad.

The LIT program offers:

  • State-of-the-art business-language and cross-cultural training
  • Possible internships/employment with U.S. and foreign agencies and businesses
  • Study abroad and other stateside and overseas practical experiences

The undergraduate programs include cross-cultural courses and are not limited to a required minor in business, but are open to include all EMU minor programs. However, we recommend a minor in a discipline with a focus on international and public issues, such as:

  • International Business (IB minor)
  • General Business
  • International Affairs
  • Tourism
  • Political Science
  • Economics
  • Public Law and Government
  • Social Work
  • Health Administration
  • ROTC
