Francine Parker Advising Center (FPAC)

Hello and welcome to Francine Parker Advising Center (FPAC)!

What is FPAC? FPAC is the academic advising center for students who are interested in declaring a major in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). CAS is the largest college in the university, offering 81 majors and also offering the majority of courses that satisfy the university’s general education program requirements. As a student at Eastern Michigan University you are strongly encouraged to meet with a FPAC advisor to maintain your progress the general education program and begin to develop your major program of study.

Academic advising is an important aspect of the long-term academic success of our students. Our office advisors provide students with individualized advising appointments to assist them in choosing a major, selecting courses, making progress toward a degree, and understanding academic policies and procedures.

If you would like to ask about a course substitution or other exception, please seek advising through the home department office that offers the course(s) for which you would like to request a substitution or exception.

Once you have declared a major, you also have support from faculty advisors in the department that houses your major. Once you have declared a major, you are strongly encouraged to schedule an advising appointment with your home department. For assistance to meet your faculty advisor, call or email the department.

The staff in the Francine Parker Advising Center takes great pride in assisting students with their academic issues and making sure students are on the right track towards their degree completion and career goals.
