Counseling Clinics

The Counseling Training Clinic within the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) offers personal and family mental health counseling as well as career assessment and academic counseling that taps into your potential and builds upon your strengths and the strengths of your support systems. Services are provided to individuals, couples, families and children.

Counseling services are provided by advanced graduate students under the direct supervision of faculty who are all licensed professional counselors and supervisors. The clinic runs in conjunction with didactic and experiential coursework in the Department of Leadership & Counseling that prepares clinicians to provide professional services to both EMU and the greater Washtenaw County community.

Our counselors work with children, adolescents, and adults from Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and surrounding communities as well as EMU students, faculty, and staff.

School-Based Counseling Training Clinics

The counselor education program at EMU also runs School-Based Counseling Training Clinics that offer 100% free clinical counseling services to students enrolled in Ypsilanti Community Schools, WIMA, and WIHI. These clinics are staffed by advanced graduate students under the direct supervision of faculty who are all licensed professional counselors and supervisors.
