Our students are professionally active, with an exceptional record of presenting research at major refereed national conferences, winning prestigious awards and fellowships, and achieving success in leading Ph.D. programs. Students who do not opt for doctoral study pursue teaching and other field-related professional careers. Students in our MA programs have obtained teaching positions at many institutions in Michigan and other states.
Active scholars and editors in their fields both nationally and internationally, English faculty are recognized for their research, as well as their teaching. Our faculty are award- winning scholars and teachers, including receiving EMU Distinguished Faculty Awards in all of the teaching and research categories.
