WEMU STILL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH SPRING PLEDGE DRIVE: Come on over and help WEMU during their Spring On-Air Pledge Drive by answering phones and taking pledges between Thursday, April 4 through Thursday, April 11, in the WEMU studios located on the fourth floor of King Hall. Shifts are a minimum of two hours and run between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. *$100,000 IN 100 DAYS - THAT'S THE CHALLENGE: Thanks to a gift made by an anonymous donor, all donations of up to $5,000 made by any first-time donor to Eastern Michigan University over the next 100 days will be doubled. CORNELL UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR TO SPEAK ON SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATION: Professor Stuart Hart of Cornell University will speak on "Sustainable Technologies and Innovation" on Thursday, April 4, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m., in room 1, Sill Hall. Dr. Hart is an internationally recognized speaker who has delivered hundreds of keynote addresses on the topic of sustainable business around the world. This event is free and open to the public and LBC credit approved.
* ONE WEEK U.S. TRAVEL COURSE IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN: Earn up to three credits discovering the beauty of Pure Michigan and learn about geotourism in the Grand Traverse region. Through this unique field course, you will explore area attractions and how the Pure Michigan campaign is promoting our state. This course is open to current students, guest students, faculty and staff. The course will run from Saturday, May 18 through Friday, May 24. Course qualifies for LBC credit - GEOG 177, 379 and 592. LUNCH AND LEARN SESSION: Human Resources is pleased to offer "Image You!" today, April 3, 12 - 2 p.m. This is an interactive workshop designed to help women improve their leadership skills. During the workshop, Stephanie Robinson, director of Benefit Programs will discuss career planning, image control, communication styles and relationship management will be among the topics discussed. Women in all employment classifications and any stage of career are invited to participate in the workshop and share personal experiences.
