* CONFERENCE WITH NATIONALLY KNOWN SPEAKERS AND FILM: The EMU Students for Life of Michigan will host a conference and short film on Saturday, Mar. 15, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in room 301A in the Student Center. Featuaring nationally known speakers, including Bryan Kemper and the Pro-life short film, "Crescendo." Also hear from Students for Life of Michigan, Students for Life of America, Alliance Defending Freedom, sidewalk counselors and More. Conference sign in is at 9:30 a.m. 

 

LECTURE ON STUDENT EMPOWERMENT THROUGH NONPROFIT EDUCATION: As part of Women's History Month, there will be a lecture on Monday, Mar. 17, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the auditorium in Halle Library. The lecture will talk about "Student Empowerment through Non Profit Education." Presenters include Laura Schultz Pipis, Michelle Kuhar, Colleen Cartwright, Olivia Mateso Mbala-Nkanga and Jennifer Oatis. * CRISIS IN UKRAINE EXPERT PANEL DISCUSSION: The campus community is invited to hear a  panel discussion and public forum on Tuesday, Mar. 18, 7 - 9 p.m., in room 20, Pray-Harrold on the Crisis in Ukraine. The panel will include EMU professors Volker Krause and Judith Kullberg, political science and Kelly Vitor-Burke, geography. "WOMEN IN GREEK LIFE" BROWN BAG PRESENTATION: The EMU Women's and Gender Studies Department is pleased to present "Women in Greek Life" on Wednesday, Mar. 19, 12 - 1 p.m., in room 300, Halle Library. Presenters will be Casey Jordan and Amy Barnhart. Sponsored by the Women's Resource Center.

 

OPEN FORUMS: There are three final candidates for the position of Assistant Director at the Transfer Admissions Center. Members of the campus community are invited to listen to each candidate give a 10 minute presentation followed by a short question & answer period on Wednesday, Mar. 19, in room 400 Pierce Hall. The candidates and times are listed below:

INTERNATIONAL CONVERSATION CLUB: The International Student Resource Center presents an opportunity for students and the campus community to participate in conversation with people from all over the world about a wide variety of topics. 2014 DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER SERIES IN CLINICAL RESEARCH: The Distinguished Speaker Series is pleased to welcome Jonathon Seltzer on Monday, Mar. 31, 7:30 - 9 p.m., in the Student Center Auditorium. Seltzer is the resident, ACI Clinical, director of Clinical Research at Lankenau Hospital and past president of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research. His topic will be "Public/Private Efforts to Improve the Quality and Safety of the Clinical Research Enterprise." This series is open to students, faculty, staff as well as the general public. 2014 DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER SERIES IN CLINICAL RESEARCH: EMU is pleased to welcome Minnie Baylor-Henry, worldwide vice-president of Regulatory Affairs at Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices & Diagnostics and president of the Drug Information Association on Wednesday, Apr. 16, 7:30 - 9 p.m., in the Student Center Auditorium. Her topic will be "Regulating Medical Devices & Diagnostics: A Global Perspective." The series is open to students, faculty, staff as well as the general public.
