Annemarie Kelly, JD, LLM is a practicing attorney and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Administration for the College of Health and Human Services at Eastern Michigan University. Previous work includes private practice litigation and serving the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services as a Compliance Officer and State Administrative Manager for Business and IT Services. In latter, she managed the teams responsible for State health IT contract negotiations, quality assurance testing, and IT budgets with a $1.5 billion contract portfolio and IT services operating budget of $242 million. In the former, she has served as counsel for individuals and businesses across the Midwest in regulatory compliance, contract, and disability planning matters. Professor Kelly has been a guest speaker on health law and policy at the local, state, and national levels. She has appeared on television and radio programs, including the NPR Morning Report, NPR All Things Considered, and ABC News Detroit. Professor Kelly has also testified before the Michigan Legislature to support disability rights/healthcare reforms.  Professor Kelly holds an LLM in Health Law from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Her research interests include disability financial planning, disability policy, and health care informatics. She recently received the “2020 Women in Healthcare Award” from Crain’s Business Detroit for her research and community service work. 


Lewis Hershey, Ph.D.

Lewis Hershey, Ph.D., MA is a professor of marketing and formerly the department head in the Department of Marketing, Business Law and Supply Chain Management at Eastern Michigan University. Previous positions include business owner/entrepreneur of Hershey Consulting Services and Apple Mountain Software and financial advisor at Prudential and American Express. Since 2015, his research interests have concentrated on the financial planning needs of individuals and their families with disability issues.  A 2009 Paul Mills Scholar, he has served on the Society of Financial Service Professionals’ University Partners Program Committee. Dr. Hershey holds a PhD from Louisiana State University.
