Family Weekend 2021

Family Weekend returns to EMU September 24-26, 2021! Tickets for our events have sold out, but it's not too late to get your ticket to the EMU Football Game vs. Texas State! If you'd like to purchase tickets for the game, contact the EMU Ticket Office at 734-487-3669.

The itinerary for Family Weekend is outlined below. Please note that the itinerary is subject to change without notice based on changes to local health and safety restrictions regarding COVID-19.

Friday, September 24, 2021

  • 5 p.m. - Check-In and Welcome Dinner at The Commons
    Check in for Family Weekend and join us for dinner at The Commons! You will receive your welcome bag when you check-in which will include an itinerary, campus map, parking information and tickets purchased for any of the add-on experiences.
  • 7:45 p.m. - Movie in the Park at the University Park Amphitheater
    Head on over to the Amphitheater in University Park for our regularly scheduled Friday Night Movie! Our family-friendly feature film is Raya and the Last Dragon.

Saturday, September 25, 2021

  • 10 a.m. - Pre-Game Tailgate at Rynearson Stadium
    Gather with us outside Rynearson Stadium for our pre-game tailgate! Enjoy food and drinks and get excited for EMU Football!
  • 2 p.m. - EMU Football Game vs. Texas State at Rynearson Stadium
    Cheer on the Eagles as they take on the Texas State Bobcats at Rynearson Stadium!
  • 3 p.m. - Explore Ypsilanti Scavenger Hunt
    Spend the afternoon exploring Ypsilanti with your student! Stop for photos at scenic sites near campus, downtown and in historic Depot Town. Be sure to visit some of our favorite restaurants and shops along the way!

  • 10 a.m. - Family Weekend 5K Walk/Run in University Park
    Walk (or run) around University Park with us during our final event of the weekend! All 5K participants will receive a prize at the finish line! Water and refreshments will be served after the race.
