Ilkhomjon Amanov

An international student from Uzbekistan, Ilkhomjon Amanov came to the United States to pursue a business education. He decided to combine his interest in accounting as a “language of business” with his fascination of information technology by signing an accounting information systems major. He is currently working toward his master’s degree in accounting.

Ilkhomjon’s leadership roles on campus include those as president of the International Student Association, member of the Student Affairs Committee for the Board of Regents, student body senator for Student Government, president of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and representative for the College of Business on the Dean’s Board of Student Advisors.

Ilkhomjon has been a recipient of various scholarships, including the Great Teachers in Accounting Endowed Scholarship and the Richard Baird College of Business Endowed Scholarship.

Through the generosity of EMU’s donors, he has been able to travel to and immerse himself in the culture of Ireland and England through the academic study abroad program. He has also been able to conduct three research studies and present them at the annual Undergraduate Symposium. Donor gifts have also allowed him the opportunity to spend two years as an Honors Student Fellow Recruiter, working to promote awareness of the Honors College on campus through speaking.

Students like Ilkhomjon are able to pursue limitless potential because of donors like you. Your generosity has made a wide variety of experiences possible for students who wouldn’t have otherwise had them. Your selflessness molds the students of Eastern Michigan University and will follow them well into the future as they impact their community and those lucky enough to encounter them.
