Eastern Michigan University's Public Safety Oversight Committee (PSOC) was established by a March 25, 1992, resolution of the Board of Regents, and by Michigan law. The scope and purpose of the Committee, as described by the statute, is to receive and address any grievances brought against EMU public safety officers and/or the University's Department of Public Safety. The results of the findings of the PSOC are reported to the University's President. Michigan law also requires that members of the PSOC be elected by the faculty, students and staff. As of November 1, 2020, the PSOC members are:
