EMU is Tobacco Free
Eastern Michigan University is committed to the health and well-being of its students, employees and campus visitors. In an effort to achieve a healthy learning, living, and work environment for every student, employee and visitor, smoking and the use of tobacco are prohibited in or on all university owned, operated or leased buildings, facilities, and grounds, including vehicles. The grounds of the EMU campus will be tobacco free, as will the grounds of any off-campus facilities owned or leased in total by the university. The ban includes any sidewalk that cuts through the campus or between buildings, and extends up to the perimeter sidewalks of the EMU campus. Read the full policy.

Eastern Michigan University has adopted a tobacco-free policy that supports a healthy learning, living and work environment for all members of the campus community.
The policy, effective July 1, 2015, prohibits all smoking and the use of tobacco products in or on all university owned, operated or leased buildings, facilities and grounds, including vehicles.
