- Relationship Status: Married
- Anniversary Date: June 21, 2008
Do you have children? How many?
3 - Konnor, Natalie, & Brynn.
How did you meet?
We met while working together on the Student Crew. We assisted the custodians, replaced broken furniture, and exchanged old mattresses. If you filled out a work order between 2005-2008, it was probably one of us who filled it!
Where was your first date?
Our first date was to a formal event put on by the old Ave Maria College across from campus. Steve had a lot of friends there and somehow got tickets. It was at the Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor.
Any cute memories you have together at Eastern?
One time he surprised me by borrowing a telescope from his father and taking me in between The Village and the Family Housing on a hill to look at the stars. It was very romantic.
If married/engaged, how did they propose? If it was on campus, where?
He proposed at the Botanical Gardens where we had our first date. We were married at what used to be Holy Trinity Student Chapel, just off campus, and we had our reception at University Park, in the boat house.
What are the two of you doing now?
Steve is a Corrections Officer for the State of Kansas and I am a stay-at-home mom.
Any romantic advice you would give to students:
We found each other when we weren't looking for a relationship. We weren't putting on a show because we weren't trying to impress one another. We got to be ourselves and be friends first. Don't rush in to anything, get to know each other.
