Homecoming Tailgate Procedures
Eastern Michigan University is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable game day experience for all alumni, students, and fans. As we prepare to celebrate our 100th Homecoming, Eastern Athletics and the EMU Department of Public Safety have implemented the following protocols to be in place on Saturday, Oct. 9 for the Eastern Homecoming Football game against Miami University.
Tailgate Lots
All parking lots surrounding Rynearson Stadium and the Convocation Center will open at 11:00 a.m. on the morning of Oct. 9. No cars will be permitted in the Rynearson Lots across Hewitt Street before 11:00 a.m., and only individuals with a DONOR LOT, VIP, or STAFF Parking Pass will be permitted to park in the Convocation Center Lots. VIP Parking Passes are available for $30 and valid at all 2021 Eastern Football home games. To purchase a VIP Parking Pass, call the EMU Athletics Ticket Office at 734.487.3669.
Parking spaces in the Rynearson Lots will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis, as directed by the Game Day Parking Staff. In order to provide the safest experience for everyone in the tailgate lots, spaces cannot be saved for individuals who have not arrived, and vehicles must be in a designated parking space.
Grills and tents 10’x10’ are permitted within the tailgate lots under the expectation that they are setup and operated safely. Any individuals wishing to set up a tent larger than 10’x10’ must complete the form below and receive permission from Eastern Athletics and the EMU Department of Public Safety. No tents will be permitted to setup in the Rynearson Lots prior to Saturday, Oct. 9.
Recreational Vehicles
Fans planning to bring a recreational vehicle (RV) to Rynearson Stadium for Homecoming will only be permitted to park within the Convocation Center VIP Lot. A VIP Parking Pass will be required to park an RV within the lot. Call 734.487.3669 to purchase a VIP Parking Pass in advance of Oct. 9.
Anyone wishing to stay overnight in an RV on Friday, Oct. 8 into Saturday, Oct. 9 must contact Diana Young in the EMU Department of Public Safety.
Overflow Parking
In the event that parking lots around Rynearson Stadium and the Convocation Center reach capacity, overflow parking will be available at the EMU Intramural Softball Fields off of Westview Street. Individuals will be directed from Huron River Drive onto Westview Street into the overflow parking. A pedestrian route is available from Westview Street to the Rynearson Stadium entrances via Champions Drive, running between the St. Joe’s Sports Dome and Rynearson Stadium.

Tickets for the Saturday, Oct. 9 football game are available for purchase through Eastern Michigan University Athletics.
