Part-Time MBA Coursework and Curriculum
MBA students will select from in-person, online (asynchronous), or hybrid courses. The choice to earn the degree in this mixed delivery format, or 100% online, is yours. The EMU MBA. Your Way. The MBA program of study requires a minimum of 36 credits and is comprised of four parts:
- Foundation (18 credits, may be waived based on previous coursework)
- Core (18 credits)
- Restricted Electives (6 credits)
- Concentration Courses (12–15 credits)
If you earned your bachelor’s in business administration from an AACSB-accredited school, you may waive all 18 of the foundation course credits. (Effective Fall 2019, you must meet certain grade and time requirements to waive FIN 502.) If your school is not AACSB-accredited, we’ll assess your undergrad work on a case-by-case basis.

There’s a couple different ways to customize your MBA at EMU. If you’re earning the general MBA, you’ll take 12 credit hours of open electives instead of concentration courses. If not, you may choose from one of eight areas of concentration:
