Kognito Training

Studies have shown an increase in college stress over the last few years, but with increasing competition, an ever expanding number of stressors, a societal loss of personal communication, and escalating workloads, that seems like a no-brainer. What do we do when people we are close to start to bend under pressure? What can we do to help? How do we talk to our friends that are dealing with problems?

Kognito can help you find answers to these questions. In this unique, game-based simulation, you will learn how to recognize the signs of distress, approach a friend you're worried about, and determine where you and your friend can turn for help.

QPR Training

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

QPR can be learned in our Gatekeeper course in as little as 1.5 hours. If you have a student or staff group that you would like to receive QPR training, please call CAPS at 734-487-1118.

No QPR Training Dates are currently scheduled. Check back soon for new dates!
