Flight Training Provider

Aviation students enrolled in Aviation Flight Technology must use our approved flight provider Crosswinds Aviation. EMU has a formal contracted partnership in flight training with Crosswinds Aviation, which was approved by the Regents of Eastern Michigan University.

In order to best serve our students we offer four different locations to fly from:


Estimated Cost of Flight Training

The costs listed below are paid directly to the flight training provider for aircraft rental and flight instructor time. They assume a student of average ability who consistently flies at least two to three times a week. Failing to fly consistently will ultimately increase training costs.

These costs also do not include tuition, books, or simulation time at EMU.

Checklist before Takeoff

 

  • Students are required to purchase insurance to cover any costs of accidents/incidents.
  • Students are responsible for choosing their flight instructors;they may change instructors at any time. You should visit the provider prior to the beginning of classes in order to make an informed decision. Students can access the Crosswinds Aviation Online Scheduler to schedule their flight training activities.
