Morris Chair Support

What is on the workbench and will be supported by the Morris Chair in Educational Transformation?
- A multi-modal literacy project with 25 youth in collaboration with The Workshop partner, Mentor2Youth, to commence in Fall 2024. Six EMU people across departments, offices, and colleges and two community partners are part of the project at this time.
- A regional conference on neuro-divergence, planned and developed with The Work and Play Developmental Resource Center and across departments and colleges, is in its early planning stages for Spring 2025.
- Institutionalization and programmatic anchoring in EDST and SFCE, in coordination with community partners, will occur over 2024-2025: identification and securing of field experience, internship, and research opportunities that benefit students and community partners; revision and alignment of course assignment options in relevant EDST, EDLD, and SFCE courses with The Workshop partners; development of elective sequences in EDST to create logical coherence between students’ professional interests, dissertation work, internship experiences, and agency need.
