Jonathan Mock

Jonathan Mock is a student veteran in the process of finishing up his bachelor's degree in Computer Science-Applied after his return from a deployment in 2022-2023. His job in the military is unrelated to CS.

Jonathan’s passion for computer science began in high school, and from there he knew that he wanted to become a software developer. He loves the problem solving nature of the field, and also puts his problem solving skills to work playing high strategy board games in his off time. On campus, Jonathan is involved in a Christian organization named Cru, where he helps lead small group discussions and build a welcoming community on campus.

Arie Gentry

Arie Gentry began studying to become a secondary mathematics teacher, with computer science as a minor. Eventually computer science became his major, math was demoted to a minor, and teaching was out of the equation. Arie is from Lake City, Michigan  about three hours away from Ypsilanti, but he still enjoys driving to visit home and watch movies or play Pokémon with family and friends. Even though he spent time at EMU as a Computer Science grader, and completed multiple large software projects to put on his resume, he had not as of spring 2024 dedicated time to the career search. After graduation Arie intends to move home and explore career options up north, taking full advantage of his experience at Eastern.
