About

The College of Engineering and Technology believes recruiting and supporting the young people the U.S. needs in the fast-growing technology and computer science fields requires strong commitment, leadership and coordinated efforts from educators, relevant organizations and the business community.

Motivated by this commitment, former professor for the College of Engineering and Technology, Gerald "Skip" Lawver founded the Digital Divas conference. Digital Divas' goal is to connect young women to opportunities in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). As Digital Divas grew to over 1000 participants in attendance each year, the College of Engineering and Technology decided to launch a partner program in the fall of 2019 for male counterparts The Digital Dudes program has a fall conference for middle schools and a spring conference for high schools. The conference will consist of two hands-on breakout sessions with leaders in engineering and technology, a keynote address, and a working lunch.
