Opening Celebration Reception and Essay Scholarship Showcase

The opening reception program includes members of the EMU Forensics team will perform pieces reflecting on this year’s theme, “Remembering the Dream.” . Light refreshments will be served.
MLK Essay Scholarship Showcase
The MLK Student Essay Scholarship Showcase will feature essays written by EMU students. The essays will in some way exemplify, relate to, connect with, or inform our understanding of Dr. King's legacy; in particular, how individuals and groups interpret Dr. King's mission to improve the world through equality, peace and justice. The essay must highlight how they have personally demonstrated this year's theme: Rise Up Against Injustice. Refreshments will be served.
The essays created by our EMU students will be judged and three students will be selected to each receive a $500 scholarship in recognition of their work.
The three winners of the 2020 Student Essay Scholarship are:
