Checklist for Transfer students to apply to the EMU School of Music & Dance

- You will need to apply to the School of Music & Dance
- Visit the School of Music & Dance audition page to understand what you need to prepare.
- Pro tip: make contact with the EMU professor for your instrument voice to ask for advice about how to prepare for the audition. The professor can be an advocate for you! Visit the EMU Faculty page.
- Visit the EMU Music Literacy Assessment page for details about the exam. The faculty have provided lots of tools to help you prepare for this exam. If you have had college-level music theory classes, you may elect to take the Music Theory Advanced Placement Exam. The faculty have provided detailed information about what is covered in each of the four semesters of undergraduate music theory courses. To review, you may want to ask your former music theory teacher for advice.
