Regent Anupam Chugh Sidhu
Anupam Chugh Sidhu was appointed to the Board of Regents by Governor Gretchen Whitmer in March of 2023 to an eight-year term that will expire in December 2030.
Sidhu first arrived to Eastern Michigan University in 1989 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Secondary Teaching Certificate in 1994. She later earned a Master of Education in Instructional Technology at Wayne State University in 2001. She is also an EPFP Michigan State University 2011-12 Fellow.
Sidhu began her career as a Tutor for Homeless Students and Workshop Facilitator with the Education Project for Homeless Youth in 1992, and has since earned over 25 years of experience working in public education with roles ranging from tutor, teacher, coach, consultant, and director.
Sidhu currently serves as trustee on the Plymouth-Canton Community (P-CCS) Board of Education, Chair of the Student Performance and Achievement Committee, and as the officer of the Wayne County Association of School Boards (WCASB).
Within these roles, Sidhu advocates for high quality instructional programs, safe and inclusive environments, social-emotional support, along with equitable support, resources and funding for student success.
In 2020, she helped lead efforts that moved P-CCS forward with the passing of Bond 2020 for new technologies, furniture, improved safety, dedicated spaces for gym and art, new playgrounds and pool, Salem Auditorium renovation along with so many other improvements.
Sidhu resides in Canton, Michigan with her husband and son and enjoys hiking, traveling, dancing, and cooking in her spare time.
Regent Sidhu serves as Chair of the Student Affairs Committee, and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee. In addition, she serves as a member of the Eagle Administrative Services Board.
