Donation Guidelines

How to Donate

Please wash the clothes prior to donating as Swoop’s does not have access to a washing machine. Clothing donations can either be dropped off directly at the pantry or in the donation bins at the first-floor entryway of Pierce Hall. 

 

What Does Swoop’s Thrift Accept?

  • Button-up shirts, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and long-sleeve shirts 
  • Dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, and shorts
  • Outerwear, hats, scarves, and gloves
  • Bras, unused/packaged underwear, socks, and shoes
  • Accessories, belts, ties, and jewelry
  • Bedding, blankets, towels 
  • Baby/Kids supplies and clothing
  • Backpacks, purses, duffle bags, drawstring bags, and lunch boxes
  • Books, board games, TVs, small appliances, entertainment systems (DVDs, DVD/Blueray players, records, game systems, video games, speakers)
  • Household items such as dishes, silverware, glassware, small appliances, pots and pans, etc.
  • EMU Undergraduate and Graduate gowns/hoods

 

What Swoop’s Thrift Does Not Accept?

  • Textbooks 
  • Used underwear 
  • Stained clothing 
  • Tattered/deteriorating clothing
  • Worn-out shoes
  • Broken items
